Bengaluru: The Karnataka Assembly floor test will be held Tuesday evening as per the deadline set by the Speaker KR Ramesh but uncertainty looms as Opposition BJP await the arrival of Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy.
Floor test can be done before 6 o’clock in the evening. When the debate started in the House, most of the legislators of the ruling party were not present. Speaker Ramesh Kumar expressed displeasure at this. He asked, Where are the MLAs of coalition government?
The Supreme Court has adjourned the hearing of the petition filed by the two independent MLAs who asked the apex court to direct the Speaker to hold the trust vote today. Karnataka Minister UT Khader demanded that if BJP accepts that it has been conspiring then they will immediately hold a trust vote.
Speaker KR Ramesh also summoned the rebel MLAs of which 13 of them have asked for four weeks’ time. He is meeting the lawyers of the rebel MLAs. Speaker KR Ramesh has asked the lawmakers to make sure the confidence motion is moved today. The trust vote is scheduled to be held by 6 p.m today.
