Mumbai: The MeToo movement which began with Tanushree Dutta caught momentum a few days ago. However, the buzz it created seems to be dying down. But, Kareena Kapoor Khan is the latest one to open up about the movement which took Bollywood by storm.
The actress opened up about MeToo as she arrived to launch her women centric show What Women Want as an RJ on an FM station. Considering her show deals with women’s issues she was asked about the problems women face in the film industry and what her thoughts were on the MeToo movement.
Kareena said, “Times have changed. We are now openly having conversations about it. Today people have come out. I appreciate the women who had courage to speak up.”
She said that be it the film industry or the corporate world, work environments need to be women friendly. “Be it big or small, every place has to be safe. You can be a big star or a small one, but the environment should be safe. This is a huge change we are seeing. A lot (complaints on sexual harressment in Bollywood) has been assessed. Legal course bhi shuru hua hai.”
