J&K terror attack: Martyred convoy driver from Punjab had joined CRPF at the age of 19

Moga: Jaimal Singh, a resident of Koitsekhan town in Punjab’s Moga district, was among the 44 CRPF jawans – who were martyred in the terror attack in J&K’s Pulwama. Jaimal was driving the bus when it was blown up by militants on the Srinagar-Jammu highway. The condition of his wife Sukhjit Kaur, who is in Jalandhar, worsened when she learnt about his death. The martyred jawan has a six-year-old son.

Jaimal Singh had joined CRPF at the age of 19

Jaimal Singh was born on April 26, 1974. At the age of 19, he joined the CRPF. The family said that the terrorist attack took place when his unit was being shifted from one place to the other and Jaimal Singh was driving the bus.

Used to hold lengthy talks with his little son

It is said that Jaimal Singh often used to make phone call to home and hold lengthy talks with his little son. A woman residing in the neighborhood of the martyred jawan told over phone that Jaimal Singh’s wife was inconsolable after receiving news of his death.
