Duo said the SP leader pressurised them to get their land registered in his name
Jhansi: A woman and her son have accused a former Samajwadi Party (SP) MLA Deepnarayan Singh Yadav aka Deepak of abducting and assaulting them. Police have registered a case. The Garotha MLA has been accused of pressurising the woman and son to get their land registered in his name. However, Yadav has denied the allegation and said it is a political conspiracy against him. He said the woman was like his mother and he would quit politics instead of misbehaving with her.
‘Armed men abducted me and my son’
Victim Manni Yadav, resident of Bhujond village, said she and her son Gyan Singh own 2 acre land on the highway and ex-MLA’s land is situated close to their land.
She said some armed men came to her house on February 2 at about 6pm on a car and forcibly took her and her younger son Prem Singh Yadav to the Moon International Public School. Some SP leaders were already present in the school.
Ex-MLA locked woman, son in a room
She said Yadav pressurised her and son Prem Singh to get their prized land registered in his name. Manni Devi said that earlier she had sold some land to him but she has not received the full payment yet. So she does not want to sell the land. Angered over this, the former MLA locked her and her son Prem Singh in a room and pressurised them to get the land registered. When Prem Singh refused, the former MLA beat him up with a stick.
Yadav was booked on orders of SSP
Manni Devi said she intervened to save her son but she was also assaulted. She said she did not go to Moth police station out of fear and made a request to senior superintendent of police (SSP) Jhansi to register a case against former MLA. After the order of the SSP, Moth police booked Yadav and an unidentified accomplice under sections 365, 354, 342, 323, 504 and 506 of the IPC.
‘BJP MLA conspired to frame me’
Former MLA Deepbarayan Singh Yadav said Lok Sabha elections are approaching and so BJP MLA Jawahar Rajput had conspired to frame him in a false case. Yadav said Prem Singh Yadav worked as a storekeeper-cum-watchman at Moon International Public School, which is owned by the bJP leader himself. Earlier building materials and other items went missing from the storeroom. Some of the stolen items were recovered from Prem Singh.
Prem Singh was sacked as he was involved in theft: Ex-MLA
“When the charge of theft was found correct during investigation, Prem Singh was removed from the school on February 2 and a letter was also given to the Moth police for taking penal action against him. He said a false case was registered against him on the behest of BJP MLA Jawaharlal Rajput. He said the allegations of Prem Singh and his mother are false and fabricated,” Yadav said.
“Manni Devi is 60 years old. She is like my mother. I can quit politics, but cannot do such a thing,” he added.
