While India was shocked by the dastardly Pulwama terror attack on Thursday which claimed the lives of at least 40 CRPF jawans, a Pakistani daily has reported the attack as a ‘fight for freedom.’
Seeing this, Dhadak actress Janhvi Kapoor took to her Instagram account to slam the article, and dismissed it as a ‘propagandist article.’
She wrote, “The reasons to be angered and hurt are plenty. The one that upsets me the most is that our men didn’t even get the chance to fight for themselves. The second photo is of a propagandist article that is celebrating this terrorist attack as a fight for freedom. It’s tragic and irresponsible that the truths of such a condemnable act are being distorted by the media to suit their political agendas. These men have been robbed of not just their lives but also the respect that they deserve as protectors of a nation. Let’s pray for the souls of our brave men and for the strength of their families.”
The Pulwama attack is one of the worst ever terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir. To honour the death of our soldiers as a mark of respect and stand against terrorism, celebrities have cancelled events.
Union Minister Arun Jaitley said in a tweet on Sunday morning, “India has withdrawn MFN status to Pakistan after the Pulwama incident. Upon withdrawal, basic customs duty on all goods exported from Pakistan to India has been raised to 200% with immediate effect.”
On the work front, Janhvi will next be seen in Karan Johar’s directorial Takht along with several other Bollywood actors.
