Mumbai: If you are an actor in Bollywood, you need just one solid commercial hit to make your stocks go higher in the market. And in case a female oriented movie that you are helming hits the bull’s eye, you land yourself in a position to negotiate your rates.
Alia Bhatt is rumoured to be finding herself in this happy space after the super success of “Raazi”. Grapevine suggests that the actress is now looking at increasing her fee substantially by a few crores after having proved her mettle at the box-office.
Says a source, “Alia has always been on the top league. She usually charges approximately between ₹5 to 7 crores per film project. While most of her films except “Shaandaar” have been hits at the box-office, it is “Raazi” that is set to change things for her. She was the only commercial face in the film and the success of the film has added more weight to her commercial value. She is now contemplating on hiking her fee by a few crores so that she can reach the double figure mark. She knows now is the right time to ask for her price. It is like striking the iron while it is hot. “
For the moment, only Kangana, Deepika and Priyanka command double figure fees in Bollywood. Sources indicate that Alia has the brightest chance of overtaking all the above and becoming the highest paid female actor as age is on her side.
“Alia is 25 and has a string of commercial films lined up opposite A-list actors. Anyone new planning to sign her will easily have to shell out somewhere between 8 to 10 crores.”
