Indore: Indore had emerged at the top in the last two Swachhta Sarvekshans and was designated the cleanest city in the country. And now, the administration of Madhya Pradesh’s commercial capital is trying to make it number one in voting also.
Voting for Assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh is due on November 28 and the local administration is trying to ensure that the district clocks the highest polling percentage in the state.
‘Vote Indore Vote’
Besides voter awareness campaigns through other platforms, the administration has got developed a mobile app christened ‘Vote Indore Vote.’ This app will be downloaded in the mobile phones of all booth-level officers.
According to collector Nishant Warwade, the app will send a message to the voters on the evening of November 27 reminding them that they have to exercise their franchise the next day. On November 28, another message will be sent at 8 am, telling them that the voting has begun and that they should head for their polling booth. If the voter does not turn by 12 noon, another message will be sent.
And if he or she is still missing till 3 pm, a voice message will remind them that the deadline (5 pm) is approaching and that he or she should better rush to the booth.
Thereafter, voice messages will be repeated at hourly intervals till the voter casts the vote or 5 pm, whichever is earlier.
