Indore: India drubbed Bangladesh by an innings and 130 runs on the third day of the first Test match at Indore on Saturday, to take a 1-0 lead in the series.
Man of the Match of course was India opener Mayank Agarwal, whose 243 proved to be too much for the visitors.
After declaring their first innings 493 for the loss of six wickets India bowled out Bangladesh for 213 runs in the later’s second innings.
Mohammed Shami was the pick of the bowlers for the hosts, who claimed four wickets, while spinner Ravichandran Ashwin claimed three wickets. Umesh Yadav chipped in with two wickets, while Ishant Sharma got one.
Mushfiqur Rahim (64) top scored for the visitors. Other contributions came from Mehidy Hasan Miraz (38) and Liton Das (35).
The teams move to Kolkata from here, where they will play their first Day and Night Test with the pink bowl. The second Test begins from November 22, 2019.
