‘India has nuclear weapons and will not be cowed down by Pakistan’: Modi

Barmer: Prime Minister Narendra Modi raised the pitch against Pakistan at an election rally in Rajasthan’s Barmer.

Indicating that India had nuclear weapons and would not be cowed down by Pakistan, Modi said New Delhi’s threats of outcomes led Pakistan to release captured IAF pilot Abhinandan Varthaman.

BJP’s 2019 campaign has focused heavily on India-Pak tension and PM Modi has warned the neighbouring country repeatedly while campaigning. Since the Pulwama terror attack, the BJP campaign has been built around nationalism and national security.

Modi attacked Pakistan for repeatedly announcing it had the nuclear button.

“India has quit the policy of being scared of Pakistani threats. Haven’t I done the right thing,” he questioned the crowd, which roared approval. “Else, every other day they announced, “We have nuclear button, we have nuclear button”. So what do we have then? Are those being saved for Diwali?”
