‘I’ll shave my head if needed’: Ayushmann Khurrana talks about his role in next film

Following his trend, Ayushmann Khurrana’s next film Bala is based on premature baldness in men. The actor, who has done various roles in films with taboo subjects like sperm donation, erectile dysfunction, etc, said that he will gladly shave his head for his role in the new film, produced by Dinesh Vijan.

Speaking to Dainik Bhaskar, Ayushmann said, “We are trying out different looks for the movie. We will finally choose the one that will fit the character well. I have no apprehension in shaving my head, if that is what is needed for the role. I have shaved my head twice while I was doing theatre. So, I will have no problems doing it again.”

Ayushmann said that he was surprised that the topic of premature baldness was never tackled before in Hindi cinema. “Baldness has been a huge problem ever since the birth of humans. In today’s times, it is something that troubles every man who suffers from it. There are many cures available in the form of wig or weaving. So it has become like a multimillion industry. We will be talking about all this in our film,” he said.

Ayushmann also emphasised that the ultimate intention of the movie is to make it clear that baldness shouldn’t affect one’s thought and it is one’s personality that matters ultimately.

Bala will be directed by Amar Kaushik and Ayushmann’s co-star in movie will be Bhumi Pednekar.
