Alwar: Former foreign minister Natwar Singh’s son and BSP candidate from Ramgarh assembly constituency Jagat Singh stirred up a controversy when he made a controversial remark while addressing a rally in Ramgarh on Friday. His remarks surfaced in a video that has gone viral.
Jagat Singh said he would send all – Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Rajasthan’s chief minister Ashok Gehlot and former chief minister Vasundhara Raje Scindia – of them packing back.
‘I’ll take first bullet on my chest’
In the video Jagat Singh is heard saying that if there is an open firing, he will take the first bullet on his chest. “I’ll not go back. If stones are thrown at me, I will respond with an AK-47. It does not matter who is in front of me, I will send all of them packing back,” he is heard saying in the video.
Jagat Singh has not given any reaction to the video. It is reported that Singh made these remarks while addressing party workers on the day of filing nomination papers for Ramgarh Assembly seat.
By-poll necessitated following BSP candidate’s death
Singh is contesting elections from Ramgarh assembly seat. Voting is scheduled to be held on January 28. The by-poll has been necessitated as earlier the election had been cancelled following the death of a BSP candidate. Now, BSP has given ticket to Jagat Singh.
‘I’ll not run away’
Jagat Singh is heard saying in the video that there was a BJP MLA in the area for the last 10 years. Our sisters and daughters are being abducted, cows are being butchered. “Everything is happening before your eyes. The BJP was in power, they did nothing. Recently, there was a brawl in Jugrawar. Where was BJP? 200 boys were likely to be arrested but no one came to save them. I reached there. I’ll not run away. I’ll be the first to face the bullet on my chest,” Jagat Singh is heard saying in the video.
No complaint received: Collector
Alwar district collector Indrajit Singh has said he has not received any information or complaint in this matter. “But I’ve sought information from the returning officer,” he added.
