I miss cricket; hope to play for our country if allowed: Bigg Boss first runner up Sreesanth

Mumbai: The most talked about contestant of Bigg Boss 12, Sreesanth, made maximum headlines during his stay in the house. From throwing tantrums to showing aggression, the cricketer is proud to have displayed his real side, while many contestants were wearing masks.

In an interview with Dainik Bhaskar, the cricketer opened up about his journey, not being able to lift the trophy, talking about match-fixing in the house, missing cricket and many more…

Entire show revolved around me:

You know what, I actually knew that I would be in the top three (laughs). The entire show revolved around me; I was blamed for so many incidents. I managed to grab the limelight and this is what the show demanded. The entire journey was awesome!! A lot of people came to the show with masks, but I came as Sreesanth.

Initially, I was aggressive but slowly I realised that one should just react when needed. I was never wearing a mask like few other housemates. Unfortunately, I couldn’t lift the trophy but yes, one cannot deny the fact that I managed to win the hearts of millions.

Happy to see Dipika winning the title:

I am happy that Dipika won the title. Somewhere, at the back of my mind I knew that she would lift the trophy. In fact, I had mentioned once in the house that she is the face of the channel; she would definitely win. Who knew my words would actually come true (winks). I am proud that my sister has won the show; she deserved it. I don’t regret anything which I did inside the house.

There are a few guilty cricketers who were involved in match-fixing but they are still playing:

Two of the biggest incidents in my life was the match fixing case, and the slap gate controversy with Harbhajan Singh.

I also spoke about the unusual BCCI ban which states that I am not allowed to visit even my children’s school or college playgrounds. I would need permission from one of the associations; which is ridiculous. Believe me, there are a few guilty cricketers who were involved in match-fixing and they are still playing the game. I came out with a clean cheat but in spite of that I am still waiting for it. It really hurts me; I have wasted six years of my life. This is something which I can’t forget.

I miss cricket:

I miss playing cricket. To be honest, now I feel that earlier I was a cricketer and now I have become an actor (smiles). I still hope to play for our country if the BCCI allows, but if not, then I will just move on in my life. I have a family to take care of. Life is good! I have no grudges against anyone. I came to survive this game but I ruled it.

I am back with the girl I love the most:

The best thing that has come out of the show is for the girl I love the most. My wife, Bhuvaneswari fell in love with a fun-loving and aggressive boy, who got lost somewhere after 2013. But now I am back, and Bhuvneshwari is so happy about that. Bigg Boss 12 has been one of the best experiences in my life. And I am proud that I gained so much strength and experience from the show.

On the work front, Sreesanth will be seen acting in two upcoming films — Richa Chadda-starrer Cabaret  and Kempegowda 2. He will be seen in Khatron Ke Khiladi 9 that launches next week.
