I always felt that I am a good actor. People just took time to understand it: Varun Dhawan

[dropcap]W[/dropcap]ith two back-to-back performance oriented films October and Sui Dhaaga, Varun Dhawan can’t stop blushing.

Asked about how he felt being appreciated for his performances, he said, “I don’t know how to react when people appreciate my work. My career has been bit funny in the industry. When I stared acting, people would call me chocolate hero and would not speak about my acting. After six years, especially this year which has been particulary good, people have talking about my performance. It is quite encouraging for me.”

Varun feels it took some time for audience to recognise his talent and said, “I always felt that I am a good actor. I think people took time to understand that. I am genuinely very thankful to the audience and that’s what matters to me. If audience thinks the film is good then I guess it should get an award and characters too should be appreciated. All of them are fantastic in the film. Anushka has made a lot efforts because she is a completely different person than her character. Her work as Mamta is commendable. I hope she gets all the awards this year. Getting recognition at big platforms is always nice. ”

On the work front, Varun will begin shooting for Remo D’souza’s untitled dance film with Katrina Kaif. He is also shooting for Karan Johar’s Kalank. Next year, he will be seen collaborating with Shashank Khaitan for Rannbhoomi and a film with Sriram Raghavan.
