Mumbai: Parineeti Chopra was the first choice to play the lead in Anurag Kashyap’s Womaniya which is based on real life shooter. The actress was apparently approached for the role initially but did not do the film.
“Parineeti was offered the role initially when Anurag was finalising the cast. She was suitable for the role and even liked the script. But eventually did not do it as it is going to be a two heroine project. She also had some other movies to shoot. So that role went to Kriti Sanon who also left the film because of date issues. Finally, Bhumi Pednekar was offered the role and she agreed to come on board,” says a source.
The film is based on life of an 80-year-old sharp shooter and her sister-in-law Tomar. The film was to go on floor last year and Taapsee Pannu has been finalised to play one of the leads long time ago. The will now go on floor early next year and till then both the actress are expected to start training for shooting.
