Here’s what followed when Mumbai Police called out Dulquer Salmaan for using phone while driving

[dropcap]W[/dropcap]hen Sonam Kapoor shared a video from during her shooting for an upcoming film, on Twitter it caught the attention of Mumbai Police soon and what followed is a long exchange of tweets and replies among the actors involved and the police Twitter handle!

A video was posted by Mumbai Police’s Twitter handle on Friday, in which actor Dulquer Salmaan can be seen checking his phone while sitting behind the wheel, and actress Sonam Kapoor can be heard calling him a “weirdo”. Mumbai Police expressed its disapproval of Dulquer for his “weirdo” stunts on the road in the tweet.

The actors were apparently shooting for their upcoming film The Zoya Factor when the video was shot in the car.

The actor, however, said they should have checked some facts first and called himself “not a weirdo”. He wrote, “Would appreciate it if you had checked some facts before tweeting this. In fact @MumbaiPolice helped us with permissions and traffic management during the shoot and were present the whole time. In my next tweet attaching the video I was shooting. #notawierdo.”

As per Sonam and Dulquer, the car was rigged to a low loader truck, and one could not steer or drive the car even if he/she wanted to. Dulquer replied back to Mumbai Police’s tweet with a proof to support his statement.

Supporting her co-actor, Sonam took to Twitter and wrote, “We weren’t driving we were rigged on a truck.. but I’m glad you guys are concerned.. I hope and I know you show the same interest in regular folk as well! Thanks for taking care! #Reelvsreal.” Replying to this Mumbai Police assured the actress that for them “No Mumbaikar is ‘regular’ they are all ‘special’! And we are equally concerned about them all. Glad to know your safety wasn’t ‘rigged’.”
