Mumbai: Ranveer Singh certainly seems to be the flavour of the season. After delivering a knock out punch with Simmba, Ranveer has become the darling of the masses. Producers too are lining up to sign this superstar.
Now we hear that the actor has been approached for Osho’s biopic. This is the same biopic that Aamir Khan was earlier slated to do but apparently the Dangal actor has opted out.
“Aamir had liked the initial script idea that was told to him by Shakun Batra. He then asked him to write the whole screenplay. Apparently, later on Aamir felt it wouldn’t be a great fit for him to play the character. Now the makers have started scouting for a replacement and they have approached none other than Ranveer Singh. They feel Singh has the talent and charisma to pull off the role of someone as controversial and yet magnetic like Bhagwan Rajneesh,” says a source.
“The problem here is Ranveer’s plate is full with films and he is already doing one more biopic (that of Kapil Dev). So, for the moment he is not keen on adopting another real life character on screen. He has asked the makers for some time to think about it before taking a call on whether he wants to be part of the project or not,” adds the source.
When Aamir was asked last year about Osho’s biopic, he said, “Shakun has discussed the project with me. I am waiting to hear the script.” When asked if the project would be a Netflix series, Aamir said, “I don’t know. It all depends on the script.”
