Has Kings XI Punjab offered coaching gig to Gambhir?

Former Indian international Gautam Gambhir, who recently announced retirement from all forms of cricket, looks set to start of a new career in life with Kings XI Punjab

New Delhi: Gautam Gambhir announced sudden retirement from all forms of cricket last week, playing the final game of his career for his state team Delhi which concluded on Sunday.

Soon after the retirement, the left-handed batsman made it clear that he would look forward to coaching instead of holding the mic and doing commentary.

Now it seems like he is set to start a new career in life with the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Kings XI Punjab (KXIP).

Recently, Gambhir indulged in a very interesting Twitter chat with the IPL club, fueling speculation that his next destination could be Punjab.

It all began after the team wished Gambhir following his decision to retire. Their Twitter post read, “End of a chapter, a new one begins! We wish you a great future ahead, @GautamGambhir! #ThankYouGambhir for the fond memories!”

The 2007 World T20 and 2011 World Cup winning superstar responded in kind with a message which read, “Thanks team red for making it special. Let’s meet soon…@BCCI @BCCIdomestic”

Kings XI Punjab then added to the speculation, stating they are waiting for the former Delhi Daredevils and Kolkata Knight Riders skipper to cheer for them. “It is our pleasure. Waiting to see you cheer for our lions from the stands of the den!,” their post read.

Witnessing the exchange of light-hearted, Kings XI Punjab fans were guessing a number of different things.
