Jodhpur (Rajasthan): A grade seven student of Our Lady of the Pillar Convent School, a prestigious missionary school in the town, smuggled an air gun into the school on Wednesday. In the recess, he took out the gun from his bag and told his classmates that he had brought the pistol to ‘teach a lesson to the sir.’ He then fired several shots in the air.
That led to panic in the class of around 40 students. When the school management came to know of the incident, it took away the gun from the student. In the evening, when other students told their parents about it, some of them informed the police. After this, Raghuveer Singh, the police station in-charge of Boranada Police Station reached the school. However, the management refused to register any case saying that the gun was in its possession.
We had summoned the parents of the child. We did not inform the police keeping in view the future of the student. The security of all the students is the responsibility of the management. We would not compromise with it. The parents of the child have been warned. Sister Saroj, Principal, Our Lady of Pillar Convent School
