‘Gold’ kal ki kahani hai, aur ‘Satyamev Jayate’ aaj ki: Makers of ‘Satyamev Jayate’

A major clash is expected as both the films are releasing on Independence Day.

Mumbai: In Bollywood, film clashes are quite a common affair. However, the upcoming clash is pretty sensational. Akshay Kumar-starrer Gold and John Abraham-starrer Satyamev Jayate both release on Aug 15.

What makes it a hot topic is the fact that John and Akshay are good friends and are clashing at the box office. Also, Akki isn’t too happy with this fact as the actor has been quoted by the media saying, “Next time I will also do the same.” This implies that he was hoping that the makers of John-starrer film would move the release of their film from Independence Day.

What also set many tongues wagging is the fact that Satyamev Jayate is co-produced by Bhushan Kumar, from whose film, Mogul, Akki made an exit. Conspiracy theories doing the rounds suggest that it was Kumar’s way of getting back at Akki who walked out from his project.

However, during a recent media interaction Kumar cleared the air saying that it may appear like that but he means no harm to Akshay.

Meanwhile, the co-producer of the film Nikkhil Adavani told Dainik Bhaskar, “Dono film alag hai ek doosre se, I hope both the films work.”

The writer director of the movie Milap Zaveri elaborates, “John (Abraham) hamesha kehte hai, if you want to see India that ‘was’, see Gold and if you want to see India that ‘is’, see Satyamev Jayate. Gold kal ki kahani hai aur Satyamev Jayate aaj ki kahani hai.
