New Delhi: Former India cricketer Gautam Gambhir recently attended the inauguration of the seventh edition of Hijra Habba in the capital. The cricketer never shied away from voicing his opinion on Indo-Pakistan diplomacy was spotted donning a dupatta and a bindi while supporting the transgenders. Recently, the Supreme Court delivered a historic verdict partially decriminalising Section 377.
The event, whose theme this year is ‘Born This Way’, saw transgenders come together for the annual Hijra Habba, on Tuesday, organised by the HIV/AIDS Alliance India.
It was a session where the transgenders felt united and it was about empowering the community through speeches, trying to educate people that they have got talents as well to do the best for the country in their respective fields.
Gambhir had in August, shared photos on Twitter with his transgender ‘Rakhi-sisters’:
