Filmmaker Subhash Ghai denies rape allegations against him, calls #MeToo ‘a fashion’

New Delhi: Mahima Kukreja, a Twitter user on Thursday had stated that a woman told her personally that filmmaker Subhash Ghai drugged and raped her.

Kukreja uploaded chats in a tweet, in which a girl (who doesn’t want to get identified), has claimed that Ghai spiked her drinks before sexually assaulting her.

Later, as the girl alleged, the Pardesh director took her to Fariyas hotel in his car.

“He took off my jeans and mounted me. I was trying to scream but he put his hand over my mouth,” she added.

Denying the allegations, Ghai told to a news agency, “It is sad that it is becoming a fashion to malign anyone known, bringing some stories from past without any truth or blown up false allegations if all. I deny strictly and firmly all false allegations like these.

Meanwhile, Subhash Ghai has also said that he would not back out from taking legal action against the allegations hurled at him and will sue the woman in concern. “If she claims this way, she should go to the court of law and prove it. Justice will be done or I will go for defamation certainly,” said Ghai.

On Friday, 73-year-old filmmaker also extended his support to the ongoing movement – under which the women are naming and shaming alleged sex offenders on social media.

“Destiny shows u good times bad times-I m deeply pained 2b gripped in this movement but thank those who know me n my respect I shower to women n their dignity in spite of our cosmetic world we live n react more thru our love affection n respect Now seen in different perspectives (sic)”.
