Executive engineer among 33 suspended over disruption in power supply in Madhya Pradesh

Bhopal: An executive engineer of Ujjain Division, two assistant engineers and four junior engineers of Madhya Pradesh Paschim Kshetra Vidyut Vitaran Company Limited (MPPKVVCL), were among over 30 staffers suspended on Friday for dereliction of duty in providing continuous electricity supply in their respective areas.

Others who were suspended include 10 line employees, 15 outsource employees and two clerical staff. The employees belonged to all five zones of Indore city circle.

“The action has been taken up on basis of a number of complaints received from residents regarding disruption in power supply. ,” said CMD Narwal.

He said these staff either failed to attend to the complaints on time or remained unaware during interruptions. “Their response time for the assigned job was found to be very poor,” he added.

The action came a day after chief minister Kamal Nath had issued strict directions to ensure uninterrupted supply after receiving complaints in this regard.
