Essential goods and services will be available during lockdown in Madhya Pradesh, more testing labs to be set up: Shivraj Singh Chouhan

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan arrived at the Ministry directly from Raj Bhavan after taking the oath of Chief Minister for the fourth time and reviewed in detail the remedial measures being taken to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

Taking seriously the impact of the coronavirus in Jabalpur and Bhopal, the Chief Minister directed to enforce lockdown. During this time only essential goods and services will be available. There will be a complete curfew in urban areas of these districts. He said that it is necessary to take this strong step with a view to protecting the health of the people.

The Chief Minister directed to make the supply chain of essential commodities like milk, grocery, vegetables and medicines more efficient in the event of a complete lockdown. He said that with the cooperation of the people, we will destroy the corona.

Chouhan said that the situation of corona affected districts will be reviewed daily. So far, there is a lockdown in 39 districts of the state.

The Chief Minister has appealed to the people not to leave the houses to stop the spread of coronavirus. Toll-free numbers 104 and 181 can also be used to get information about this.

The Chief Minister directed that the lockdown should be implemented effectively. He also instructed all collectors to be vigilant in their respective districts and not to allow people to gather in one place. The best way to stop the coronavirus is to end the chain of its spread. It is only possible that people do not meet each other.

Chouhan said that in the event of a lockdown, the process industry should be kept running so that the equipment needed to stop spread of coronavirus such as masks, sanitizers are not lacking. He directed the response team to be alert for areas prone to infection.

The Chief Minister also asked to arrange adequate beds in all the district hospitals to isolate potential persons from infection. He asked officials to make preparations for the next three months. The Chief Minister said that taking cognizance of the situation of other states, take all necessary measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus in MP. He asked officials to dispatch orders anticipating the need for the necessary equipment. The government of India will also be requested for assistance in this regard.

New labs will be established: The CM said that by increasing the number of five laboratories available in the state, new laboratories should be established in Sagar and Gwalior and these laboratories should remain open for 24 hours.

At present, AIIMS Bhopal, ICMR Jabalpur, DRDO Gwalior, MY Hospital Indore, Gandhi Medical College Bhopal have laboratories. Deploy all the medical staff in private hospitals to prevent the spread of the virus. He asked to keep a special watch on the flights coming from abroad and make special checks on tourists visiting religious and tourist places, national parks.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that mock drill of paramedical staff should be done so that they can check the possible cases with promptness. The CM instructed all hospitals to keep micro plans ready as a precautionary measure and ensure an adequate number of beds. He also instructed all the district collectors to strictly follow the advice given by the Government of India.

Chief Secretary Shri M. Gopal Reddy and Principal Secretaries of all departments were present in the meeting.
