Diljit Dosanjh to get a wax statue at Madame Tussauds

New Delhi: Soorma lead actor Diljit Dosanjh will be the first actor/singer from the Punjabi industry to be featured by Madame Tussauds Delhi.

Madame Tussauds Delhi took to Twitter on Monday to announce the news, “We are glad to announce that @diljitdosanjh would be the first actor/musician from the Punjabi film industry to have his figure at #TussaudsDelhi. It’s time for some Dhol and Bhangra at Madame Tussauds.”

The actor had however, shared the news on his Instagram handle a day before. “Finally, yeh din bhi aa gaya,” read the caption of Diljit Dosanjh’s post.

Diljit Dosanjh made his Bollywood debut with Udta Punjab in 2016. For the film, he won a Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut. His next film Phillauri was with Anushka Sharma.

The story of Soorma is based on the life of ex-hockey captain of India, Sandeep Singh, who after an accidental gunshot injury in 2006, got paralyzed for two years.

Now, after the release of Soorma on July 13, he has two films lined up — Kaneda with Anushka, and Arjun Patiala with Kriti Sanon.
