Mumbai: Chris Gayle is in devastating form in the 2019 Indian Premier League. He debuted for Kings XI Punjab in 2018 and made an immediate impression with a whirlwind ton against Sunrisers Hyderabad – he ended last season with 368 runs from 11 matches.
In the 2019 IPL, Chris Gayle has been in even better form. He has played 10 matches so far this summer and has already crossed the 400-run mark (444 runs so far) for the first time since 2015 when he cracked 491 runs. This year, his average is at its highest since 2013 and his strike rate at its highest since 2012.
MS Dhoni was pleased with Harbhajan Singh after he trapped the dangerous Chris Gayle early in the innings. One of the craftiest captains in the game, Dhoni said he knew an off-spinner stood the best chance of getting Gayle out early.
