Delhi government’s first dog crematorium in Dwarka will be ready by March

New Delhi: Losing your darling pet can be stressful, not being able to say a last goodbye only worsens it. Delhi’s dog owners now can give a proper farewell to their beloved pets as the state government announced its first pet crematorium in Dwarka.

The crematorium is part of the multi-purpose dog complex in Dwarka sector 29, which will be ready by March 2019, reported TOI.

There will be a nominal charge of Rs 500 for the cremation of pet dogs while for the stray dogs there will be no charges.

Price of government crematorium services is affordable for the common class as compared to the private crematorium which offers cremation services on an average cost of Rs 5,000.

As per the national daily, the furnace of the electric crematorium can flame a biomass of 50 kg in an hour, while the average weight of dog lies between 14-35 kg. A dog’s dead body can be disposed within an hour, and the ashes be handed to owners in 1.5 hours.

Multi-purpose dog complex has a medical facility including rescue and rehabilitation center for observation of rabid dogs.
