Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal worships cows at Bawana gaushala, says ‘serve cows, don’t seek votes in their name’

New Delhi: Attacking the PM Narendra Modi-led Central government, Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal said ‘we should serve the cows instead of doing politics in their name.’

“Those who seek votes in the cow’s name don’t give fodder to it. We don’t do politics in cow’s name. We don’t seek vote in cow’s name. We should serve the cows,” Kejriwal said during his visit to the Shri Krishna Gaushala (cow shed) in Bawana.

The Delhi government claims this gaushala has bagged country’s best gaushala award. During his visit, Kejriwal worshipped the cows there and said that he will be visiting Harayana in the coming week as he has been invited by the people there. He added that he is keen to see the condition of cows in the gaushals there.

CM lashes at BJP

Targeting BJP-ruled civic body, he said, “The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has not given funds for the cows. We provided the funds.”

Kejriwal said people should come here to see how the cows should be served. The Delhi government has done a great job, he added.

The Delhi government has also decided to provide hostel facility for cows. Recently, the government notified Animal Health and Welfare Policy to provide a better environment for birds and animals. Also, it proposed to build a cow shelter and a home for the elderly people so that senior citizens may be able to serve the cows.
