New Delhi: After a video of engineering professor Sanjeev Shrivastava dancing to a Govinda song went viral on social media, he was on Saturday appointed as the brand ambassador of Madhya Pradesh’s Vidisha Municipal Corporation.
Earlier, CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan had praised Shrivastava for his enthusiasm and said, “Believe it or not, there’s something special in Madhya Pradesh’s water.”
“Dance is God’s gift to me. I was inspired by my mother Mohini Devi Shrivastava who has been a classical dancer. I have not got any formal training but I won Madhya Pradesh’s best dancer award three times in the 80s in competitions held in Bhopal,” he told to DB Post.
The middle-aged ‘dancing uncle’ (as many have been calling him on social media) said, “This is an unreal feeling. I can’t believe my dance video has gone viral. I thank everyone for the love and support. I have been dancing since 1982 and my idol is Govinda ji. Now I hope to get more opportunities.”
“It is a big thing for me that so many people have liked me, and I thank them from the bottom of my heart. I am extremely happy that people like Raveena Tandon, our chief minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan have liked my dance,” expressed Srivastava.
