CRPF vehicle collides with rock on Jammu-Srinagar highway, DIG and driver die

Srinagar: An officer and his driver were killed when the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) vehicle hit a rock after a landslide on the Jammu-Srinagar highway. Another officer also suffered serious injuries in the accident. Their car collided with a large rock on the highway near Khooni Nala on Sunday evening after a landslide.

According to the information, CRPF North Kashmir DIG Shailendra Kumar was going to Srinagar in the SUV when this accident happened on Sunday evening. In the accident, DIG Shailendra Kumar and his driver died on the spot, while another officer was seriously injured. The injured officer has been sent to the hospital for treatment.

Officer survived by wife and two daughters: A CRPF official said, “The officer killed in the accident was Shailendra Kumar. He was posted as DIG recruitment in the Directorate. He is survived by his wife and two daughters. This is a big setback for the family and the force. We lost a young and capable officer.”
