Bhopal: Total lockdown has been done in 30 districts of the state to prevent the coronavirus. However, the lockdown in Jabalpur and Narsinghpur was already going on for three days.
People are in a fix as the lockdown started on the second day of the janata curfew. In other districts of the state including the capital Bhopal, the administration had alerted the people through the public announcement system on Sunday night itself. People were told that there is no need to panic. All the items of need will be easily available.
Bhopal, Raisen, Vidisha, Sagar, Ujjain, Morena, Sheopur, Jabalpur, Seoni, Betul, Balaghat, Narsinghpur, Chhindwara, Ratlam, Tikamgarh, Anuppur, Katni are locked down after one suspected corona positive case came to light in Bhopal and four others in Jabalpur.
Shivpuri, Seoni, Mandsaur, Mandla, Rewa, Dindori, Guna, Sehore, Datia, Ratlam, Neemuch, Jhabua and Bhind districts have also been locked down. This lock-down will be on different dates in different districts. Section 144 is also implemented here.
Its effect is also seen in these districts. People bought milk and vegetables comfortably on Monday morning. People went to their homes after purchasing the necessary items. In the locked-down districts, the administration has facilitated people to work from home.
Police swing into action in Bhopal from Monday morning
Total lock-down has been done till late March 31, after a woman was confirmed as corona positive in Bhopal on Sunday. Goods and emergency services are exempted from lockdown. People are staying in homes since Monday morning.
In the old city, people tried to get out of the houses, but the police sternly sent the people back home. Petrol pumps, medicines and milk parlours are open. Home delivery permission has been given to hotels so that the outside students do not have any problem in eating. Flights to the capital Bhopal have also been closed. At the same time, the government employees have been asked to work from home till March 31.
A sudden rush in the market in Bhind
Bhind has been locked down for two days on Monday and Tuesday. However, no infected patient has appeared here. But this step has been taken as it is close to the border of Uttar Pradesh. The district administration had made an announcement on Sunday night itself. Despite this, on Monday morning people came to the market as usual. Top police officers rushed to the scene with the force and advised people to go home. After this, people moved into their homes.
Police patrol in Sehore, people stay indoors
The city is on high alert after the coronavirus patient was found in Bhopal, bordering Sehore. The district has been locked down. Police are patrolling the streets. In the morning people came out of their homes to buy necessary items. It is noteworthy that some families of Sehore also went to Bhopal to meet the coronavirus positive girl in Bhopal. Administration has isolated them in their homes.
Lockdown in Ratlam, Mandsaur, Neemuch till 25
Neemuch Collector Jitendra Singh Raje informed that the janata curfew has been extened in the district. On March 25, till 12 o’clock, the total lockdown has been declared and prohibitory orders have been issued. At the same time, the district administration has now locked the district till March 25 in the event of finding corona suspects in the district and adjoining areas in Mandsaur and according to experts, this could be community transfer. For the convenience of the people, milk vendors, hawkers and sale of other essential goods has been allowed till 8 am. The government and non-government offices have been asked to close till 31 March. About 58 people from outside the district have been kept in home isolation.
Lockdown till 5 April in Orchha, till 25 in Damoh Chhatarpur
A lockdown has also been done in Sagar division to deal with corona. The lockdown has been announced till 5 April in Orchha, where the temple of Lord Ramaraja Sarkar is located. Damoh and Chhatarpur are currently locked till March 25, while Tikamgarh and Niwari have been locked till March 31. The borders of Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh, and Niwari with UP have already been sealed. The effect of lockdown is also being seen here. Government employees are doing their work from home. In the morning people purchased essential items.
Self-proclaimed lockdown in Indore till Wednesday, all major markets closed
A decision on lockdown in Indore can be taken at the district administration meeting on Monday. However, there is a self-proclaimed lockdown in Indore from Monday to March 25 after the Janata Curfew. Here all the trade organizations have announced to keep the markets shut till Wednesday, and have also announced that if the situation does not improve even after this, they will extend it to 31 March. Along with the markets, the Restaurant Association has announced the closure of all restaurants, bars, pubs till March 31.
