Chennai: Congress president Rahul Gandhi interacted with women students of Stella Maris College in Chennai. Rahul said you cannot have a negative, fearful environment in the country and expect economic growth, which is directly related to the mood of the nation.
He said the Congress will change the mood of the country and make people feel happy and empowered. Gandhi, who asked students to refer to him as Rahul and not address him as Sir, said the law must apply to everybody and not be applied selectively. He said this in response to a question on his brother-in-law Robert Vadra.
Congress will give 33% reservation to women
Later talking with reporters, Rahul Gandhi said if elected to power the Congress would give 33% reservation to women in government organisations.
He said his party would reserve 33% of all posts/vacancies for women in central government, central government organisations and CPSUs and not just in Parliament and state legislatures. He was addressing a press conference in Chennai.
