Srinagar: Several houses and vehicles were damaged due to flash floods and mudslide, triggered by continuous rainfall in Leh in Ladakh region. Restoration work is underway in Leh’s Saboo village.
On Thursday, official sources said that incessant rains in Leh during Wednesday night, triggered flash floods and mudslide in villages Saboo and Shey. “The flash floods and mudslide washed away two light vehicles, two motorcycles and also caused damage to some houses in the area,” they said.
Meanwhile, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) rescue team along with other rescue teams from Police and ITBP managed to save the lives of people and cattle of the area.
Rehabilitations camps have been set up for affected families where all the essential services are being monitored. No loss of lives has been reported so far.
