Bhopal: Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will introduce three new courses for the students of Class 9 to 12 from the coming academic session.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has approved inclusion of Artificial Intelligence (AI) as an optional sixth subject for class 9 students from the upcoming academic session 2019 – 20. Besides AI, CBSE has also introduced Early Childhood Care Education and Yoga as new subjects.
Students can read these three subjects as optional subjects.
In classes 9 and 10, students can take any of the three subjects in the form of sixth subject.
The 11 and 12 standard students can study skill-based subjects as sixth and seventh subjects. They can study these subjects in place of the third language.
The schools will have to apply to introduce these three skill-based courses in schools. It is important to have a specialist teacher of these subjects at school.
CBSE Class 10th students (from 2019-20) also have the choice to opt for sixth skill paper besides five compulsory papers.
