‘Bombairiya’ deals with the dilemma involved in helping a stranger

Mumbai: Inspired by real events, Bombairiya is based on the chaos of Mumbai. In the daily crush, half the city will be having a bad day, while the other half may be too caught up in their own problems to stop and help. Passers-by may even think, “I may be blamed or hurt if I get involved.”

When someone does help in a situation, they act on an instinct without thinking. The writers of Bombairiya admired that about the boy who inspired the character of Abhishek, allowing a girl from the film industry to borrow his phone and call a thief.

These real events lent an ‘air of magic’ to their film. Somewhere in the city, there is a real Abhishek, his real ‘jiju’, and a ‘biker’ who became part of the girl’s bad day, making it worse. The story of the film is based on the dilemma that haunts every human being who passes someone in distress — too much trust can get one conned or even put their their lives at risk, whereas too little trust can harm someone as well.

The film which — appears to be a combination of comedy and mystery — stars Radhika Apte, along with Siddhant Kapoor, Akshay Oberoi, Adil Hussain, Shilpa Shukla and Ravi Kishan..

Bombairiya, presented Kreo Films FZ and Beautiful Bay Entertainment is slated to release on January 11, 2019.
