Bhopal: The roadshow by Bhopal’s Congress candidate Digvijaya Singh on Wednesday sparked a controversy. A news agency claimed that the policemen were deployed in civil dress, sporting saffron scarves around their neck. It was also claimed that a female constable accepted that officers had given them these scarves to wear. However, the DIG later denied this.
The DIG said that we and the organizers of the programme had deployed volunteers. ”We do not want to comment on what they wore for the show. However, no police personnel wore scarves of any specific colour”, he said.
A day earlier Computer Baba had performed Yagya
Digvijay is a candidate from the Bhopal Lok Sabha constituency. Computer Baba and seers from all over the state had performed havan-pooja on Tuesday for his victory.
