Bhopal / Budhwara becomes Bombay of 70s; shooting of Apple TV’s web series Shantaram begins (see pics of shooting)

On Saturday, some old Ambassador cars were seen in Bhopal’s Budhwara area- there were black-yellow taxis. The number plates on them were also from Maharashtra.

Apart from this, Fiat, Contessa vehicles and Rajdoot motorcycles were seen… Roads looked empty compared to every day, there was less hustle and bustle in this otherwise crowded and busy area. Actually Budhwara was transformed into the Bombay of the 1970s for Apple TV Plus’ web series’ Shantaram ‘.

Shantaram is a web series of 10 episodes, for which the crew and the team had already arrived, the shooting started on Friday, which showed that the main character of the story is looking for a place to stay in Bombay. This scene was shot. It is being directed by Justin Karjal.

It stars Charlie Hunnam in the role of lead character Lynn, Radhika Apte as a journalist. Randeep Hooda will also be seen in the film. The film is being shot by Paramount Picture Production. The story is of a criminal Lynn who wants to escape from Australia’s prison and start a new life between the slums, bars and the underworld of Bombay.

Randeep Hooda returned on Wednesday: Film actor Randeep Hooda reached Bhopal on Wednesday morning at 9 am. Randeep came here to shoot for the web series ‘Shantaram’ which started in the city. But due to the shooting being re-scheduled, he returned to Mumbai by evening. The shooting of Paramount Pictures’ web series Shantaram for Apple TV Plus was scheduled to begin in the city on November 13. But the shooting was not possible due to some reasons. According to the new schedule, Randeep will return for shooting in the next three to four days.
