Bharat bandh Protest today against CAA-NRC, police claim – no one will be able to forcibly close shop

New Delhi: A call for the Bharat Bandh has been given by various organizations on Wednesday against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). To support this bandh, women protesting at Shaheen Bagh have also decided to take to the streets.

Bahujan Kranti Morcha has called for a Bharat Bandh on 29 January in protest against the CAA, NRC and NPR. The bandh has also been supported by many Muslim organizations. The Supreme Court refused to stay the CAA for the time being without hearing the government’s stand.

At the same time, the police have also made their preparations. Police officers have claimed that no person will be able to forcibly close any shop in the name of a bandh. Here, the Home Department has issued a circular and directed the police to keep a strict vigil on social media and maintain peace and security.
