‘Badla’ trailer shows Amitabh Bachchan defending murder-accused Taapsee Pannu

‘Sach wahi hota hai, jo saabit kiya ja sake!’ says the tagline of the intriguing trailer of Badla.

New Delhi: The official trailer of Balda was released on Tuesday by Red Chillies Entertainment, and Amitabh Bachchan can be seen defending Tapsee Pannu again (after Pink), in the trailer. However, this time she is accused of murder and also looks guilty as per the evidence against her.

Director Sujoy Ghosh seems to have woven an intriguing tale in Badla with Big B’s lawyer character Badal Gupta — who hasn’t lost a case in 40 years. The trailer begins with Bachchan’s voice over, “Badla lena har baar sahi nahi hota, lekin maaf kar dena bhi har baar sahi nahi hota.

Then it reveals that Taapsee’s character is found in a room locked from inside, with a dead body, a lot of money, and her hands covered in blood of the dead man.

While all evidence is against her, Taapsee’s character is vehement that she didn’t commit the murder.

Another important dialogue to catch your attention would be, Bachchan saying, “Woh murkh hota hai jo sirf sach ko hi janta hai… Aur sach or jhoot ke fark to nahi janta.

Big B was last seen in Thugs of Hindostan, which also starred Aamir Khan, Katrina Kaif and Fatima Sana Shaikh. Taapsee was last seen in Manmarziyaan with Abhishek Bachchan and Vicky Kaushal.

Big B and Taapsee had worked together in 2016 film Pink directed by Anirudhha Roy Chowdhury. In Pink as well, Amitabh Bachchan played the character of a lawyer who defends Taapsee’s character who had been accused of attempting to murder a man with strong political connections.

Directed by Sujoy Ghosh, and produced by Gauri Khan, Sunir Kheterpal, Akshai Puri and Gaurav Verma, Badla will release on March 8.
