Asst commissioner of UP allegedly raped by her senior in Bhopal

The survivor claimed the accused raped her on many occasions. 

Bhopal: An assistant commissioner of UP’s commercial tax department was allegedly raped by her senior. She was also taken hostage and beaten up by the accused identified as Pankaj Singh, who is a deputy commissioner in UP’s commercial tax department, posted at Noida office.

The incident took place at Jehan Numa Retreat situated near Sair Sapta under Kamla Nagar police station. It came to light in the wee hours on Monday after the victim informed the police. The police have registered a case and also arrested the accused.

According to the police, the victim, 41, had come to Bhopal on August 2. She is an alumni of a private school in Bhopal. She alleged that the accused followed her and reached Bhopal on the same day. He came to her hotel room and raped her that day. He kept her captive till August 5.

When she pleaded with him repeatedly to allow her to go to Delhi, the accused assaulted her. She told the police that she somehow managed to come out of the hotel and dial 100. Dharamveer Singh, additional superintendant of police (ASP), said that Pankaj, 42, had been arrested and was being interrogated. “He will be produced in the court on Tuesday,” Singh told DB Post.

Blackmailing her for 8 years

In her statement to police, the survivor said that Pankaj Singh was posted in commercial tax department in Noida in 2010. Since the duo were colleagues, they became friendly with each other. Few months later, Singh invited her to his house and took some videos.

Since then he was threatening to upload them on YouTube. The survivor claimed the accused raped her on many occasions.
