Bhopal: Saroj Singh, wife of veteran Congress leader late Arjun Singh, on Tuesday, moved a local court here, demanding registration of a case against his sons Ajay Singh and Abhimanyu Singh under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005. Ajay Singh is the leader of opposition in the Madhya Pradesh Vidhan Sabha and a top leader of the state Congress.
Saroj Singh was personally present at the court of the judicial magistrate first class of Bhopal to lodge the complaint.
In her plaint, she said that her sons had ousted her from her house in Greater Noida and had subjected her to violence.
‘Son has ample resources’
“My husband late Arjun Singh always worked for the welfare of the women and the helpless. However, my son Ajay Singh ‘Rahul Bhaiya’, throwing his father’s principles to the winds, has evicted me from my own house and at this age, I am being forced to find shelter elsewhere. This is not only against the principles of the Congress party but also reflects on his character, given the fact that he is the leader of the main opposition party in Madhya Pradesh and has ample financial and other resources,” she said.
She said that Rahul Singh should be dispossessed of the house at JP Greens Sports Complex, Greater Noida (Uttar Pradesh) and she would be allowed to live in it.
