[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he second installment of Netflix’s web series Sacred Games on is all set to go on floors in two days. The first schedule is set to kick off in Mumbai and the cast and crew are relieved that the #MeToo movement has not dented the future of their series.
“After #MeToo threatened to derail Sacred Games post the dissolution of Phantom, Netflix immediately set into motion their independent investigation. They gave both Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane an objective hearing and heard them at length. Once it emerged that both were not guilty of any offences, Netflix has decided to go haead with part 2 of Sacred Games,” a source said.
Sources indicate that Netflix is still playing it safe in Varun Grover’s case and have not officially announced his name. Apparently, Netflix is said to be in two minds about officially retaining Grover’s name.
Meanwhile, sources indicate that Anurag is unhappy about Mumbai Academy of the Moving Image (MAMI)’s decision to drop films that he was associated with as co-producer. Sources close to the director indicated that MAMI didnt adopt a fair process like Netflix.
