Singer Anuradha Paudwal has dismissed the claims of Kerala’s Karmala Modex that she is Modex’s biological mother. In a special conversation with Dainik Bhaskar, she said, “That woman has lost her mental balance. There is nothing at all. It is just like that tomorrow any woman will get up and accuse you that she is your wife or daughter. What should be done.”
Karmala, 45, originally from Thiruvananthapuram, has claimed that 67-year-old Anuradha Paudwal is her biological mother. She has filed a case in the District Family Court seeking damages of Rs 50 crore from the singer.
Anuradha furious over the DNA test question: Karamala’s lawyer Anil Prasad says that if Paudwal rejects his claim, he will demand a DNA test. Anuradha was furious when the singer’s response was sought. She said, “If a dog gets up and starts barking, you cannot expect me to bark back. My own daughter (Kavita) was born in 1997.”
‘I do not know anything about the legal complexities’: When Anuradha was asked if she was taking any step through her lawyer, she said, “I cannot say anything about it right now. I do not know anything about the legal complexities. I never dealt with such a situation before. I would like to know on what basis the court accepted the case.”
What is the case?
Karmala Modex has claimed that Bollywood singer Anuradha Paudwal is her mother and she has filed a petition before the Family District Court to legally establish the same.
Modex informed reporters that her biological parents Arun and Anuradha Paudwal tied the knot in 1969 and she was born in 1974. She further stated that her parents gave her to Ponnachan and Agnes, as they couldn’t raise her due to their hectic schedules.
Karmala stated that she was informed about this truth by Ponnachan three years ago when he was on his death bed. Ponnachan and Agnes were family friends of Anuradha Paudwal and raised Karmala as one of their fourth kids. Karmala tried to reach out to Anuradha Paudwal in the past but was denied permission every time.
Karmala has reportedly sought compensation of Rs 50 crore from Anuradha and Arun Paudwal, stating that she lost out on a better upbringing because of the decision of her biological parents. She has also claimed a share in ancestral property. Karmala’s advocate M Anil Prasad has reportedly sent a notice to the singer to attend the case hearing scheduled for January 27.
