Mumbai: Akshay Kumar, who is always known to shoot or work on various projects at the same time, has got six upcoming films. The actor is going to begin his year with the shoot of Good News followed by Kesari, Mission Mangal, Housefull 4. He is also likely to begin work on Rohit Shetty’s Suryavanshi and Prithviraj Chauhan.
“Akshay is always known for working on multiple films simultaneously; in the past too he has finished some four-five films in a year. He believes completing projects on time, and as quickly as possible. Most of his films are produced by himself and he prefers to work with new actresses so that they can give him enough dates. This year is also going to be a busy year for him. He will finish Good News, Mission Mangal, Suryavanshi and then begin Prithviraj Chauhan. He will also be seen promoting Kesari, Good News, Mission Mangal and Housefull 4 this year,” says a source.
Kesari is being made by Karan Johar and it co-stars Parineeti Chopra — the film is based on Battle of Saragrahi and is slated to release in March around Holi.
Good News too is being made by Karan and stars Kareena Kapoor Khan, Kiara Advani and Diljit Dosanjh, and is releasing in July. On Independence Day, his film Mission Mangal which is based India’s Mars mission will release. The film will feature Vidya Balan, Sonakshi Sinha, Taapsee Pannu and others.
Apart from that, Akshay also has Housefull 4 which is slated to release on Diwali this year, and co-stars Riteish Deshmukh, Kriti Sanon, Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Kriti Kharbanda and others.
