[dropcap]A[/dropcap] 45-year-old businessman was found dead in his home along with his wife and teenage daughter, in a posh Ahmedabad neighbourhood on Wednesday. He left a three-page suicide note blaming “dark forces” for their deaths, said police.

Kunal Trivedi was found hanging from the ceiling while his wife Kavita (45) and daughter Shreen (16) were found lying on the floor in one of their bedrooms, Naroda police inspector and investigating officer HB Vaghela told HT.

Trivedi’s mother Jayshreeben, 75, was also found in an unconscious state in the house when police broke the door of their flat Avni Sky apartment open on Wednesday morning after being alerted by the family’s relatives. The relatives, got suspicious when their repeated calls to the Trivedis went unanswered.

Investigators are trying to find out if Trivedi murdered his wife and daughter before committing suicide or if it was a planned suicide pact.

“The bodies have been sent for post-mortem. And we are also waiting for the forensic science laboratory reports to reach any conclusion,” Vaghela said. Trivedi’s mother, who was admitted in a hospital, is in critical condition.

The three-page suicide note was written in Hindi and addressed to Jayshreeben in which Trivedi blamed “dark forces” for the tragedy, and also told her that she never listened to him when he spoke of the dark forces, and said that his life would have been different is she had believed in him, police said.

In the note Trivedi also said that the family wasn’t in any debt or facing any financial issues, Vaghela said, adding that there was no mention of a tantrik.

A case of accidental deaths has been registered. According to police, Trivedi earlier worked with private sector insurance companies, but recently started his own business cosmetic products.
