After ‘Batti Gul’ disappointment, Shahid to take up one project at a time

The actor has apparently decided not to take up any work till he finishes his ongoing film 'Kabir Singh'.

Shahid Kapoor started the year with a bang as his film Padmaavat helped him earned good reviews for his performance. However, his second film Batti Gul Meter Chalu could not collect good money at box office. So, for his upcoming film, he has taken to a new strategy. The actor has apparently decided not to take up any work till he finishes his ongoing film Kabir Singh. Kabir Singh is a remake of south India film Arjun Reddy.

“Shahid has already started work on the film. He has been preparing for his character of a surgeon in the film, which stars Kiara Advani. He took some time off for the festival season but he will soon resume work and will also be travelling out of town soon. He will be concentrating on one film at a time like his fellow actors. He won’t be meeting other filmmakers or read scripts till he completes this project. He chose to take this decision because his last film did average business at box office. Once he completes this film, he will sign his next assignment,” a source said.

Arjun Reddy has done well in south and the film will have one more female lead and the makers are going to make announcement on the rest of the cast soon. Shahid and Kiara, who were recently seen together in Urvashi video, have started preparing together for the film. The film is slated to release next year in June.
