Bhopal: “Aap naaraaz toh nahi hain sir?”, was what a visibly upset Muskan Kirar asked her coach Richpal Singh Salaria after she won a historic silver medal in women’s compound archery team event at the 18th Asian Games in Jakarta, on Tuesday.
Salaria, who was both elated and a little disheartened, told Muskan, “It’s okay.”
“The medal itself is proof of how hard we’ve worked to achieve this. Now it’s time to celebrate. We’ll reach Madhya Pradesh on September 1 and have a big party there,” Salaria told DB Post from Jakarta.
The Jabalpur-based archer and her teammates Madhumita Kumari and Jyothi Surekha Vennam lost 228-231 to Korea in a contest that went down to the wire till the final set of arrows.
