22-year-old drowns in Khajuraho 5-star pool

Bhopal/Khajuraho: A 22-year-old youth drowned in the swimming pool of a five-star hotel in Khajuraho on Tuesday. The family members of the youth have accused hotel administration of negligence.

The deceased has been identified as Animesh Jain, son of Devraj Jain, who is a well-known businessman of Chhatarpur district. Devraj and his family members reached Khajuraho on Monday to participate in the wedding of a relative’s daughter. The wedding was to take place on Tuesday.

Animesh and the other guests had stayed at Hotel Radisson Jass Khajuraho. On Tuesday, Animesh along with some cousins and friends, had gone to swimming pool. Sources said that Animesh, who did not know how to swim, jumped into the deep end, and drowned.

On getting information, hotel staff and other family members took him out of the pool, and rushed him to a nearby hospital, where he was declared brought dead.

The family members said that the AC of the room in which Animesh and his cousin were staying was not working, and as a result, they were forced to remain awake through the night.

Family accuses hotel of negligence, hotel says youth didn’t take care
