Bhopal/Dehradun: In a shocking incident, an 11-year-old girl from Satna was raped and murdered by a 32-year-old man in Dehradun (Uttarakhand). The police have registered a case and arrested the accused.
The deceased, along with her parents, had gone to Dehradun from Satna (MP), while the accused identified as Jay Prakash Tiwari, had come from Faizabad district of Uttar Pradesh. The deceased’s parents and the accused used to work as labourers in an under-construction building in the area.
The accused was trying to flee, when police arrested him. He told the police that he ‘wanted to have sex but failed to get an escort’ after which he targeted the minor girl and later murdered her to avoid getting caught.
According to the police, the girl was playing with two boys, when Tiwari lured them to his shanty. He gave the boys Rs 10 each to buy candies and asked the girl to stay for more money only to rape her later.
‘Low morality behind offence against children’
Agartala: Supreme Court Judge and former Tripura HC Chief Justice Deepak Gupta said falling morality in society, degenerating family values and pornography were behind the series of sexual assaults on children.
Gupta told reporters here that cases of sexual abuse of children were registered more now compared to previous years.
