New Delhi: Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Sanju has crossed Rs 300 crore mark worldwide. Ranbir had to undergo a massive transformation for the film. He has won a lot of appreciation for his gritty and almost real portrayal of Bollywood’s original bad boy, Sanjay Dutt in Sanju.
Recently, in an interview with Health and Nutrition, Ranbir opened up about his drinking problem. He said, “I don’t have a drinking addiction but yes I have a tendency to drink a lot. When I start, I don’t stop. I guess it’s in my blood, you know my family is. They are all very fond of alcohol. So, yes it’s in my genes to drink.”
He also revealed that while his father’s family tends towards eating good food and having a lot to drink, it’s his mom Neetu Kapoor who insists on maintaining a good lifestyle and eating healthy.
Ranbir said, “Staying healthy is something I adapt from my mother. She is so particular about it, and always encourages both my sister and me to follow a healthy lifestyle. And now, as I am growing older, I understand the value of health, nutrition and well-being even more.”
Talking about his fitness regime, “My fitness schedule keeps changing from character to character. It always depends on the film I am doing. In certain films, I have to look very thin like in Jagga Jasoos, I was a school student, so I had to lose a lot of weight and look really thin. So while shooting for that movie, I did a lot of cardio.”
Ranbir further says that actors have to undergo massive physical transformation depending on the role they undertake. “Now I am doing a film called Bramhastra for which I need to look lean, not muscular like in Sanju.”
On the work front Ranbir will be seen in Brahmastra with Alia Bhatt next. The movie has been directed by his best friend Ayan Mukerji and also stars Amitabh Bachchan in an important role. Next, he has signed Shamshera with Sanjay Dutt.
