Rajkumar Hirani calls ‘Sanju’ fans ‘exceptional human beings’ on Facebook post

A camera print of the film was available on a Facebook page, and with the help of netizens, the makers managed to remove it.

New Delhi: Rajkumar Hirani’s latest film Sanju hit the theatres on June 29, and has broken several records at the box office since then. But a pirated copy of the film that features Ranbir Kapoor as the lead was leaked online.

A camera print of Sanjay Dutt’s biopic Sanju was found to be available on a Facebook page, and with the help of netizens, the makers managed to get it removed.

To show his gratitude towards fans, director Rajkumar Hirani took to Facebook and thanked everyone, who alerted him and his team about the leak, for their unconditional love and support in a heartfelt note.

 

“To all of you, who alerted us about the leaked copy of our film on Facebook. We discovered that some camera copy of our film Sanju was leaked on Facebook. While this was shocking, it was heartening to see that thousands of you refused to watch the film illegally, Instead, you reached out and drew our attention to the problem. We could manage to get it deleted with help from Facebook,” wrote Hirani

“Have to say that you all are exceptional human beings. You have the empathy to understand the sweat, blood and tears that got into making a movie and you have the strength to awaken the conscience of others by requesting them not to view it. Your love for Cinema motivates us to keep going. My most heartfelt thanks for speaking up,” he expressed.
